Heartlanders make 1st trade in team history, acquiring forward Jonathan Desbiens

Coralville, Iowa – The Iowa Heartlanders executed the first trade in team history Monday, acquiring forward Jonathan Desbiens from the Maine Mariners in exchange for future considerations.

Desbiens (pronounced: DAY-bee-en) played one game for Maine, ECHL affiliates of the Boston Bruins.  He signed an ECHL contract with the Mariners this summer.

The 25-year-old skated for Bentley University from 2016-20 and scored 102 points (49g) in 139 career games. He was tied for the team lead in points as a senior in 2019-20 (30 pts.).
